Two games were run at this Springs Recruits.
Both games went very well with a Sci Fi twist added. The Sci Fi twist was the addition of some robots, from whereabouts and time unknown, appearing and causing problems for the two sides fighting. The rules used were Full Metal Heroes WWII, A Choose Your Rules Game System.
In the first game, the combatants had been comfortably fighting back and forth when the robots appeared. At that point, both sides started an unspoken truce as they battled the new foe. The battle went back and forth for many turns until the humans prevailed.
After the destruction of the robots, the two sides decided to renew their fight in hopes of gaining the robots remains to take back and study. This fight ebbed and flowed back and forth, most notably because a German squad leader repeatedly made impossible rolls to hit that kept the Americans bogged down on his side of the table.
In the end, the Americans were able to out flank and defeat the Germans. The key moment, that would ultimately determine the outcome, was when a German armed with a Panzerschreck and the American tank faced off. The Panzerschreck missed and the tank did not.
I enjoyed putting on both games, and wish to thank everyone who participated.
Thanks
